The prevalence and incidence of HCV infection varies geographically due to exposure
to different risk factors. Identification of HCV genotype is important to defining the epidemiology of the
disease. The objective of this study was to describe genotype distribution and its relation to risk
factors among HCV infected patients attending virology clinic of the Department of Infectious
Diseases at the Tripoli Medical Centre.

في ثلاثينيات القرن الماضي لم يكن ثمة ممرضات ليبيات يمارسن هذه المهنة..وفي مدينة بنغازي كان المستشفى الوحيد آنذاك هو المستشفى الاستعماري المركزي ( الجمهورية حاليا ) والذي اشتهرت تسميته بين الناس ب (السبيتار الكبير ).. ولم يكن من السهل أبدا أن يوافق أي ولي أمر على ممارسة ابنته لمهنة التمريض وذلك نظرا للظروف الاجتماعية والعرف السائد في ذلك الوقت.

World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on November 14. The date was chosen to
coincide with the birthday of Fredrick Banting the doctor who discovered insulin. It was first
introduced by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization
(WHO) in 1991. As of December 2006, November 14 became an official United Nation day,
observed every year by millions of people worldwide.

It is really refreshing and invigorating to see the Libyan young doctors coming to the United States to peruse their postgraduate training and enhancing their careers. For the this year, it rarely a month passes by without a new young Libyan doctor coming to Columbus, Ohio.
